How do I register to become endorsed?

To register to become endorsed under the Scheme, follow the instructions below which outline what  information you will need to provide and how to provide it.

Please ensure you have ALL the information outlined below.

You must have a valid and current email address for your registration and to receive communications about your registration.

You must also agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Scheme and agree to abide by the relevant State or Territory Occupational Health and Safety laws.

Your registration must first be approved by the Digital Switchover Taskforce before you have access to complete the online assessment and become endorsed. 

Please note that certified copies of your registration documents may be requested.

To begin you need all of the following items. For more information regarding these items please refer to the ‘Information you must provide’ page.

Australian Business Number (ABN)

You will need your Australian Business Number (ABN) or the ABN of your employer.

Your photo and photo ID

You will need a close up photo of your head and shoulders taken against a plain, light coloured background (in .jpg, .gif or .png format); AND

You will need a copy of your driver’s licence or passport (in .jpg, .gif or .PDF format).

Your public liability insurance

You will need details of your current public liability insurance to the value of $5million; AND

You will need a copy of your insurance Certificate of Currency or policy document. This document must state that ‘antenna installation’ is a business activity. Do not provide a tax invoice or receipt. These are not acceptable proof; AND

The business name associated with the ABN you provided must also appear on your insurance Certificate of Currency or policy document as the insured entity or person.

Your digital signal meter

You will need details of the brand, model and serial number of your digital signal meter. This meter must measure signal level, bit error ratio (BER) and modulation error ratio (MER).

Your referee

You will need referee details that include the name, company name, phone number and email address of an independent, industry referee who can verify you have at least 12 months experience* conducting antenna and/or satellite installations for digital television reception. 

* If you have completed nationally recognised training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and can provide a Statement of Attainment listing the required, specific units of competency from Certificates II and III in Telecommunications Digital Reception Technology, you must have six months experience installing antennas.

I have all of the required registration information. What next?

Now that you have all the required information, you must provide the details and upload the documents to the Scheme’s registration website.

Once your registration has been approved you must complete the online assessment/s of your knowledge of digital reception technology to become endorsed.

How do I know if my registration has been approved?

The Digital Ready Taskforce will notify you by email when your registration details have been approved.

You must then complete an online assessment to become endorsed under the Scheme. 

Your knowledge will be assessed against industry agreed minimum standards. These standards are based on units of competency covered in Certificates II and III in Telecommunications Digital Reception Technology.

There are three levels of endorsement: Domestic, Commercial and Satellite. You must successfully complete the Domestic level of assessment before proceeding with the Commercial and/or the Satellite assessment.

You can be exempted from part or all of the online assessment if you have completed nationally recognised training covering specific units of competency from Certificates II and III in Telecommunications Digital Reception Technology. If you have completed the required units you must have six months experience installing antennas.
